CORVALLIS, Ore. - Despite 501 total yards of offense and four second-half touchdowns, Oregon State could not overcome a final second 39-yard field goal as they fell to Stanford, 31-28, on Saturday night inside Reser Stadium.
A slow start for the Beavers on both ends of the ball proved costly as Stanford racked up two touchdowns in the first half to go up 14-0 at the break. Another Cardinal touchdown in the third quarter gave Stanford a three-score lead before momentum shifted in Oregon State's favor in the second half.
With the Beavers playing catch up for most of the first half, junior kick-started an offensive rhythm with Oregon State's first scoring drive starting and ending with the receiver.
