Lake Oswego High School two-sport standout and Oregon State Beavers signee Jake Dukart was selected Wednesday by the Boston Red Sox in the 36th round of the MLB Draft.
Now, the 6-foot-2, 180-pound quarterback/third baseman has a choice to make: play football at Oregon State or sign with the Red Sox to begin a professional baseball journey.
"It feels great," he said. "It's something I've worked for my entire life, so it's a pretty special moment for me and my family. I'm not entirely sure what it means yet, but it's cool to say I was drafted into professional baseball, and check that first one off the list of athletic accomplishments I've worked for my entire life.
