FAIRFAX, Calif. –Conner Kumpula shot a pair of sub-par rounds at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational on Monday to lead the Oregon State men’s golf team in their final tournament of the fall season.
Kumpula, a junior from Albany, Ore., had six birdies and only two bogies in the two rounds at the par-71, 6,734-yard Meadow Club to put him in a tie for 24th place with a 4-under 68-70--138.
The Beavers came out on fire at the two-day, 54-hole tournament, shooting a 10-under 274 in the morning round, before finishing the day with a 1-under 283 to sit in 10th place in the 16-team field with an 11-under 557.
