The Oregon State Beavers have made progress on the field under first-year coach Jonathan Smith, and are taking steps forward on the recruiting trail as well.
Oregon State has not only added four former four-star prospects via the transfer route, but has also secured commitments from several of the top prospects in the home state.
The one area still in need of improvement? Recruiting in the state of California.
On Saturday, Smith and his coaching staff made strides in that endeavor, securing the commitment of 247Sports three-star cornerback Jojo Forest.
The 5-foot-11, 175-pound cornerback, out of Mission Viejo High School (Orange, California), announced his commitment on social media, choosing the Beavers over offers from Howard, UNLV, Utah State and Washington State:

For Forest, the turning point in his recruitment proved to be his October 3 official visit to Corvallis during which he immediately felt at home.
