CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State senior Joey Palmer cracked the national rankings as a 133-pounder for the first time this season on Tuesday.
The reigning Pacific-12 Conference champion is ranked No. 17 by InterMat, and No. 20 by the Amateur Wrestling News in this week's rankings after his victory at the Pac-12 Championships this past Sunday. He edged Connor Schram of Stanford 5-4 in the finals.
Palmer has won 10 matches in a row and is 12-1 overall to improve to 26-5 overall. He was ranked at 141 pounds during the first six weeks of the season but had not been ranked at his new weight since changing weight classes for the Feb.
