BERKELEY -- Off his game early, Jared Goff warmed up and lifted Cal to bowl eligibility with a 54-24 victory over Oregon State in front of 41,874 fans at Memorial Stadium on Saturday night.
Goff completed just one of his first five pass attempts, and that connection netted zero yards. But a slow start against Beavers (2-8, 0-7) didn't deter the Bears.
Goff was 14 for 17 for 285 yards and two touchdowns the rest of the first half, and stretched that hot streak beyond intermission by completing his next eight attempts for 147 yards and three more TDs.
