Jake Luton, JC QB, commits to Oregon State Beavers

With Darell Garretson out for the season with an ankle injury and true freshman walk-on Conor Blount battling a knee issue, perhaps it made Oregon State Beavers coach Gary Andersen take a long, hard look at his depth chart of the future.

On Tuesday, Oregon State offered junior college quarterback Jake Luton, out of Ventura College, hoping he might be an answer to the quarterback issues next season.

Less than 24 hours later, the 6-foot-6, 220-pound signal-caller committed to Andersen and the Beavers.

Luton, who has two years to play two, expects to compete for the starting job next year:

Excited to announce that I've talked things over with my family & have committed to play football at Oregon State University.
