Jake Dukart, one of the notable signings of Jonathan Smith's first Oregon State recruiting class last December, left the program this week.
A university spokesman confirmed the departure. It is believed Dukart is still enrolled at Oregon State, as he has baseball ambitions. Dukart, a former baseball commit at Arizona State, is not officially on the Beavers' baseball roster.
Dukart was selected by the Boston Red Sox during the 36th round in June's major league baseball first-year player draft.
No reason was given for Dukart's departure, though the recent addition of Nebraska transfer quarterback Tristan Gebbia could have spurred the move.
