Keenan Lewis had hoped to be ready to practice when the New Orleans Saints opened training camp Wednesday.
Lewis will not be fully participating when the Saints begin practicing today after the former Oregon State star on the "PUP" (physically unable to perform) list Monday, forcing him to sit out.
Lewis, 30, is recovering and rehabbing after hip surgery in January. That surgery comes on the heels of knee surgery and a sports hernia operation. Lewis played in just six games in 2015 and he's hoping to remain healthy and play in all 16 games like he did during the 2013 and 2014 seasons.
