CORVALLIS -- Dwayne Williams' first goal for the 2017 season is simple: Play in all 12 games.
The effect of the Oregon State defensive back's absence was one of the more underrated storylines for the defense last season. The Beavers were 4-1 in the games Williams occupied that key crucial nickelback spot, and 0-7 in the games he missed. With Jay Irvine emerging as an outside cornerback late in fall camp, Williams is set to fill that same role this season.
"He gives us the ability to be multiple," cornerbacks coach Cory Hall said of Williams. " .
