BERKELEY, Calif. – KJ Harrison hit his third home run of the season and Luke Heimlich allowed just one run in 4 2/3 innings of relief in No. 3 Oregon State’s 5-3 loss to California Saturday afternoon at Evans Diamond.
Harrison drilled his second home run of the weekend way over the fence in left to give the Beavers an early 2-0 lead. Both home runs came in the first as he hit a solo shot Thursday night off Cal starter Daulton Jefferies.
Saturday’s round-tripper was the 13th of Harrison’s career.
For the third time in Pac-12 play, the Beavers chased the opposing starter before the end of the first.
