Tempe, Ariz. – The Oregon State softball program finished the first weekend with a 5-0 sweep at the Kajikawa Classic after capturing a 8-3 win over Western Michigan on Sunday morning.
Shelby Weeks singled and was joined on base by Missy Nunes two batters later after Nunes was hit by a pitch. Freshman Frankie Hammoude soared one over the outfield fence to give the Beavers an early 3-0 lead.
Oregon State would hold off any Bronco advances until the bottom of the fourth when Western Michigan hit a solo homerun followed shortly by a two-run homer.
