CORVALLIS, Ore. – Caleb Hamilton highlighted Oregon State’s night with a third-inning home run but the Beavers dropped an 11-3 decision to USC in the series opener Friday night at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
USC scored two apiece in the fourth and fifth innings and broke the game open with a six-run seventh. The Trojans improved to 30-10 overall and 11-5 in Pac-12 Conference play. The Beavers, meanwhile, dropped to 25-13 overall and 8-8 in league play.
Hamilton hit the second pitch he saw in the third over the left field fence for his second home run of the season.
