EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon State's Kara Hallock is in 17th place after the first day of the heptathlon at the NCAA Track & Field National Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene.
A senior from Lebanon, Ore., Hallock totaled 3,112 points in the first four events of the seven-event competition. She scored 942 points in the 100-meter hurdles (14.26); 701 points in the high jump (5-1.75); 660 points in the shot put (39-3.75), and 809 points in the 200 (25.86).
Her shot put mark was a PR and surpassed her former best of 38-5, set at the Pacific-12 Conference heptathlon, by nearly a foot.
