Not every victory can be a masterpiece, and from Eastern Washington coach Beau Baldwin's perspective this one probably wasn't.
The Eagles, third-ranked on the FCS level, had to scrap their way past Portland State 35-28 Friday at Providence Park.
Eastern is 10-1 and headed for the playoffs. PSU is 3-8 and headed for the offseason. But the Vikings made it a game before a Senior Day crowd of 5,669.
"They're good," Baldwin said of the Vikings. "You can say what you want about their record. They've got a lot of talent on the field.
