CORVALLIS - Earlier in the week, Oregon State coach Jonathan Smith was asked if there was something about learning how to win games. After all, the Beavers had gone more than 365 days without a win.
Smith didn't say no, but acted as though it was a minor concern. Turns out, the learning is pretty easy when a team scores on seven of its first eight drives and produces 454 first-half yards.
Such was the case for Oregon State on Saturday, as the Beavers emphatically ended a 12-game losing streak, burying FCS-level Southern Utah 48-25 in Smith's Reser Stadium debut.
