Fouls concerning, but Oregon State pledges to stay aggressive on defense

CORVALLIS – After a December victory over Loyola Marymount, Oregon State coach Wayne Tinkle highlighted his team's lack of defensive aggressiveness with the fact that the Beavers' opponents shot only two free throws.

"We should be getting fouls on box outs, quite frankly," he said. "It's one opportunity you have to really get physical."

In varying games throughout Pac-12 play over the past two months, there have been times when the staff has been pleased with the team's enhanced defensive physicality. But the Beavers have also learned that playing aggressive is a fine line to walk, particularly down the season's final stretch.
