CORVALLIS -- Self-scouting has been a major theme of the Oregon State football team's bye week.
On defense, the Beavers are doing everything they can to tackle better and create more takeaways. Defensive coordinator Tim Tibesar did notice a reduced number of missed tackles last week against Washington State, but Oregon State generated just one turnover in the 56-37 loss.
"Those are the two things I think are going to improve our defense the most," Tibesar said after Wednesday's practice. "It's really not a scheme thing. ... When we have the opportunity to make a takeaway, we have to get that takeaway and get the ball, and continue to work on our ability to tackle.
