Former Oregon State star Dwan Edwards was cut by the Carolina Panthers earlier this month.
The defensive tackle played in Carolina for four seasons, culminating with Carolina's loss to Denver during Super Bowl 50 in February.
"Dwan represents what we look for in defensive tackles," Panthers general manager Dave Gettleman said in a statement. "He was smart, tough, played with discipline and was team-oriented. His contributions played a key role in what we are building here and his leadership will be missed. We wish him the best."
Edwards had one year remaining on the two-year, $4 million contract extension he signed last March.
