SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon State redshirt senior left-handed pitcher Max Engelbrekt has been named the Pac-12's 2017 Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the conference announced on Monday.
Engelbrekt is the first Oregon State player to earn the honor since the award's inception in 2008. A native of Seattle, Engelbrekt is pursuing his Master of Business Administration and carries a 3.63 grade point average through the Winter term. He earned his bachelor's degree in finance with a GPA of 3.41 last summer, and was recently named a 2017 Pac-12 All-Academic First-Team selection after earning Second-Team status in 2016.
