CORVALLIS, Ore. – Former Oregon State right-handed pitcher Drew Rasmussen is headed to Major League Baseball's postseason with the Tampa Bay Rays.
The Rays finished the regular season with an American League-best 100-62 record and will square off with either the New York Yankees or Boston Red Sox in the ALDS. The best-of-five series starts Thursday.
Rasmussen finished the regular season with a 4-1 record and 2.84 earned run average over 35 games, 10 of which were starts. He struck out 73 in 76 innings with the Rays and Milwaukee Brewers; he was traded to Tampa Bay on May 21.
