A day after one half of the two top college basketball players in the state of Oregon made the cut for the Wooden Award, both earned a spot on the midseason list for another elite college basketball honor.
Oregon sophomore forward Dillon Brooks and Oregon State senior guard Gary Payton II were both named to the midseason list of 35 players eligible to receive the Naismith Trophy on Thursday. The award is given annually to the top player in Division I college basketball.
Both are contenders for the Pac-12 Player of the Year award and joined fellow candidate Jakob Poeltl of Utah.
