Dhesi Wins Title in First Appearance Since 2016

RENO, Nev. – Redshirt senior Amarveer Dhesi won the heavyweight title on Sunday at the 2017 Reno Tournament of Champions.

Dhesi, who hasn't competed for the Beavers since his fifth place finish at the 2016 NCAA championships, took home the crown in the heavyweight division going 5-0 on the day. Dhesi defeated J. Heino of Campbell University by decision, 5-3.

Oregon State finished in fourth place with 96 points. Coleman's fourth-place finish didn't count towards the team score as he competed unattached.

Redshirt junior 125-pounder Ronnie Bresser took home fourth place in his first event back in a Beavers singlet going 3-2 on the day.
