The Seattle Mariners used their top two picks in the MLB Draft on pitchers, selecting Nick Neidert from Peachtree Ridge High School with the 60th overall pick (in the second round) and taking Andrew Moore from Oregon State University with the 72nd pick.
The M's had to wait as long as they did to make a pick due to their free agent signing of Nelson Cruz, whose signing came at the cost of a first-round pick.
