LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Senior Joey Delgado and sophomore Corey Griego both took fifth place on Saturday to lead the Oregon State wrestling team to a 16th-place finish at the Cliff Keen Invitational at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The Beavers moved up nine places from Friday's opening round and tied with Eastern Michigan with 34 points. They improved eight spots from their 2015 Cliff Keen finish.
Griego was 6-2 overall and capped an impressive run through the consolation bracket after losing his opening-round match by pinning Ricky Robertson of Wisconsin in 1:03 in their fifth-place match.
