Darell Garretson wins Oregon State starting quarterback job, according to depth chart

CORVALLIS — Darell Garretson has been named Oregon State's starting quarterback, according to a depth chart released by the program Wednesday afternoon.

Garretson, a transfer from Utah State, was widely viewed as the frontrunner to win the job entering spring practice and put together a strong spring game, completing 21 of his 32 passes for 263 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. After that scrimmage, Beavers coach Gary Andersen said the coaching staff could "potentially" name a starting quarterback this week.

The depth chart lists sophomore Marcus McMaryion, who started the Civil War last season, as the No.
