Oregon State University sophomore running back Damien Haskins has been named to the 2015 CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday. He is now placed on the national ballot for the prestigious Academic All-America team that will be announced later this month.
Haskins holds a 3.47 cumulative GPA as a public health major from New Boston, Texas. He has played in five games for the Beavers and is currently battling back from injury that forced him out of the last contest.
Haskins was the Northeast Texas Player of the Year as a senior at New Boston High School, setting the school record his final season for rushing with 3,027 yards with 52 touchdowns.
