CORVALLIS – The primary news to come out of Oregon State's practice Tuesday was that Ricky Ortiz, a regular offensive contributor last year, had switched to linebacker.
But that does not necessarily mean that Ortiz's days on offense are done.
After Wednesday's practice, offensive coordinator Dave Baldwin said not to be surprised if Ortiz appeared in short yardage situations this year.
"I still think he can play on offense," Baldwin said Wednesday. "He's a bright enough kid that can do that. Anyway we can help the team to win and that's the bottom line.
