Conor Blount sparks Oregon State, so do Beavers have a quarterback controversy after loss to Boise State?

CORVALLIS — Gary Andersen came out of Oregon State's win against Idaho State last week proclaiming the Beavers still needed to find their identity on offense.

And for the first half of a 38-24 loss to Boise State on Saturday afternoon at Reser Stadium, it sure looked like the Beavers were still searching. Yet the bigger question now is if OSU has a quarterback controversy, as walk-on Conor Blount provided a second-half spark after taking over for starter Darell Garretson in the second half.

Blount directed two Beavers' scoring drives, including a 13-play, 82-yarder capped with a Ryan Nall 1-yard score.
