SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon State's Chris Pendleton has been named the Pac-12 Conference's Wrestling Coach of the Year, it was announced on Tuesday.
The honor is the first in the two-year head coaching career for Pendleton, who took over the Oregon State program prior to the 2021 season.
Pendleton led OSU to a second-place finish at the 2022 Pac-12 Championships, just a half point from first. Eight Oregon State wrestlers advanced to the NCAA Championships, the Beavers' most since the 2012 season.
Four of those eight – Brandon Kaylor, Devan Turner, Grant Willits and Hunter Willits – earned All-American honors, the most for an Oregon State team since 1995.
