The Opening Finals at Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton features 166 of the nation's top prospects, but locally none are more important than the two in-state athletes - South Medford wide receiver Chase Cota and Crescent Valley athlete Talanoa Hufanga.
The duo are teammates for Team Untouchables at The Opening Finals, and both reached the endzone in their first game of 7-on-7 action Sunday.
Hufanga registered a pick-6, while Cota scored on a two-point conversion.
Bigger news, at least on the recruiting front, is that the duo would like to play together at the college level - even though they are clearly not a package deal.
