Portland, Ore. – Holly Cavalluzzo and Kristiane Width went 1-2 in the individual races and the Oregon State cross country team opened the 2015 season with victories over Portland and Portland State on Tuesday at the Westmoreland Quintet
Cavalluzzo finished the 5,000-meter Westmoreland Park course in 17 minutes, 45 seconds for her first career dual-meet win. Width was second in 18:01 and Kira Kelly took fourth in 18:14. It was the first race in two seasons for Width and Kelly, both of whom redshirted in 2014.
“I’m happy for Holly to win, she had taken second a couple times in the past,” OSU coach Kelly Sullivan said of Cavalluzzo, a junior from Montgomery, N.
