CORVALLIS – Future Oregon State gymnast Jade Carey will take part in the All-Around Final at the Tokyo Olympics, which will be held Thursday morning at 3:50 a.m. PT.
Carey finished ninth in the all-around during the qualification round with a score of 56.265, but did not initially make the cut for the finals as she finished behind fellow Americans Simone Biles and Sunisa Lee (only two gymnasts per federation can make an event final). USA Gymnastics announced Wednesday that Biles has withdrawn from the All-Around final to focus on her mental health, opening up a spot of Carey in the event.
