The Pac-12 Conference wants to win basketball and football games. Lots of them. That makes sense. It wants to generate piles of money for the member institutions. That also makes sense. Everything we've seen the conference do under Commissioner Larry Scott has been about positioning, exposure, competition, and the pursuit of a financial windfall.
He's done a nice job on those fronts. But two United States Senators would also like Scott to become a better listener and leader when it comes to sex crimes, athletics and campus safety.
