Calvin Tyler Jr., 3-star RB, names Oregon State Beavers 'slight favorite' prior to weekend visit

The Oregon State Beavers entered the 2017 recruiting cycle in need of two running backs, as rumbling Ryan "Wrecking" Nall and emerging standout Artavis Pierce don't have much behind them on the depth chart.

With Rivals four-star prospect T.J. Green already in the fold, Oregon State still needs one more before Signing Day on February 1.

Fortunately for the Beavers, a prime target has emerged in 247Sports three-star all-purpose back Calvin Tyler Jr., a highly-productive high school athlete.

During his senior campaign, the 5-foot-9, 190-pound ball-carrier, out of Silsbee High School (Texas), ran for a jaw-dropping 2,861 yards and 29 touchdowns to earn 5A 22 District co-MVP in the process.
