Some would say it’s an act such as running shore-to-shore, which is exactly what Canadian Terry Fox did back in 1980 in his “Marathon of Hope”, a cross-country fundraiser for cancer research. The key catalyst in Fox’s story though is that while he was running, he was fighting his own battle with cancer, which had already forced one of his legs to be amputated.
