Following a series-opening loss to the No. 7 Bruins (40-8, 15-3 Pac-12), the Beavers (25-22, 5-15) were back at it Sunday to try to avenge themselves. For a short while, it looked like they might even be successful.
It started with redshirt sophomore first baseman Natalie Hampton. Following a hitless first inning, OSU’s fourth batter in the lineup was the leadoff batter in the second. She got on base with a double to centerfield.
The next two batters got on base as well. Junior right fielder Sammi Noland singled and senior catcher Hannah Akamine was walked to load the bases.
