Las Vegas, Nev. – Oregon State sophomore Ronnie Bresser won his final two matches and placed third in the 125-pound weight class on Saturday to lead the Beavers at the Cliff Keen Invitational at the Cashman Center.
After falling 7-2 to No. 3-ranked Joey Dance of Virginia Tech in the semifinals in the morning, the ninth-ranked (InterMat) Bresser scored an escape with nine seconds remaining to edge No. 14 Paul Petrov of Bucknell 3-2 in the third-place semifinals. He then led the entire bout in defeating No. 13 Barlow McGhee of Missouri, 4-3, in the third-place showdown.
