Black edges Orange in intrasquad

Corvallis, Ore. – The Black team defeated the Orange team 23-17 on Wednesday night at Gill Coliseum in the Oregon State wrestling team’s annual intrasquad match, the final tuneup before the start of the regular season on Sunday.

“I thought there were some good things,” OSU coach Jim Zalesky said, noting that it’s often difficult to compete against an opponent you’re very familiar with because you face them in practice every day.

“There are things as a coach you have to look at [for the team] to work on. Mental things, little things like watching the clock, not building your lead, wrestling hard the first period and then slowing down,” things of that nature.
