Los Angeles, Calif. – Oregon State softball captured a 2-0 victory over Western Carolina following a tough defensive battle put together by the Beavers.
Oregon State scored in the bottom of the first inning after Lovie Lopez started with a lead-off walk. Jessica Garcia laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance Lopez to second who then made it to third off a passed ball. Frankie Hammoude hit a RBI single to give the Beavers an early 1-0 lead.
Oregon State recorded another run in the sixth following Hammoude getting a lead-off walk that Karla Calderon pinch ran for.
