PORTLAND, Ore. - The Oregon State softball team split a doubleheader with Portland State Tuesday evening in Hillsboro, Ore.
The Beavers began the afternoon by beating the Vikings 2-1 in the opening game of the day.
Freshman Rainey Dyreson pitched all seven innings of game one, allowing just a single earned run while striking out a career-high seven batters.
Junior Mikela Manewa tallied two hits and an RBI, while fellow junior Sammi Noland notched a double and an RBI.
The Beavers looked like they might get on the board in the first inning of game one, when Manewa, junior Dani Gilmore and redshirt-sophomore Natalie Hampton all reached to load the bases, but the runners were stranded.
