Corvallis, Ore. – The Oregon State men's soccer team opened the 2016 exhibition season on Friday with a 3-1 victory over the University of British Columbia at Paul Lorenz Field.
Junior forward Jordan Jones assisted on a first-half goal and then notched the clincher at 87:30 for the Beavers. Junior forwards Timmy Mueller and Jaime Miralles also scored for OSU, which led 2-1 at halftime and then protected a 2-1 lead while playing a man down for much of the second half before Jones put the game to bed.
Twenty-three players saw at least 18 minutes of action as OSU coach Steve Simmons substituted liberally on a 90-degree day to keep his side as fresh as possible.
