CORVALLIS, Ore. – Ellie Slama fired a 1-under 70 to lead the Oregon State women's golf team in the first round of the Stanford Intercollegiate on Friday.
The Beavers opened the three-day tourney with a 4-over 288 at the par-71, 6,269-yard Stanford Golf Course and are tied for fifth place in the 17-team field.
Stanford took advantage of playing on its home course, shooting an 11-under 273 that has the Cardinal in first place. Arizona State and USC are tied for second with a 2-under 282 and San Jose State is in fourth with a 1-under 283.
