DEXTER LAKE – The Oregon State men's rowing team took down Gonzaga Saturday morning at Dexter Lake, as the two sides battled through the rain.
The Beavers' Varsity 8 out-paced the Zags by five seconds, clocking in at 6:05.3.
"I will call this the epitome of 'Oregon Conditions': 43 degrees, raining, with a backdrop of rolling mountains. In other words: perfect," said Oregon State head coach Gabe Winkler. "These were tight races. Gonzaga looks strong this year, but we pushed ahead in all the boats in well executed pieces. Spring break is next week and we'll put in tons of strokes to find even more speed.
