CORVALLIS, Ore. – Luke Heimlich scattered seven hits and a run over 8 2/3 innings and Trevor Larnach and Adley Rutschman each homered to send Oregon State to an 8-1 win over Minnesota Friday afternoon at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
The win pushed the Beavers (48-10-1 overall) to a 1-0 lead in the Corvallis Super Regional, with game two slated for Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. Minnesota (44-14) will be designated as the home team in the game.
Heimlich, making his last career start at Goss Stadium, improved to 16-1 on the year, and hit the 36-victory mark for his career, tying Ben Wetzler (2011-14) for the most at Oregon State.
