MADISON, Wis. – Nicole Schroeder fired a career-best 4-under 68 to lead the Oregon State women's golf in the opening round of the NCAA Division I Regionals on Monday.
The Beavers are in fifth place in the 18-team field after carding a 1-over 289 at the par-72, 6,313-yard University Ridge Golf Course.
Virginia leads the tourney with a 9-under 279, while Duke is second with a 5-under 283, USC is third with a 3-under 285 and Arizona State is fourth with an even-par 288.
The top six teams at the Madison Regional will advance to the NCAA Championships, which will be held May 18-23 at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla.
