CORVALLIS, Ore. – Tres Tinkle had 27 points, including a pair of key 3-pointers in the final moments, and Oregon State held off a late rally by Iowa State to win 80-74 on Saturday at Gill Coliseum.
Tinkle added 11 rebounds for the Beavers (2-0) and passed A.C. Green to move into sixth on Oregon State's career scoring list.
Kylor Kelley added 15 points and seven rebounds, and Zach Reichle finished with 11 points and seven rebounds.
Oregon State led by as many as 11 points in the second half but the Cyclones closed in late and the two teams wrestled for the lead down the stretch.
