PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Kevin Murphy had three eagles in the final round of the Saint Mary’s Invitational on Wednesday to help the Oregon State men’s golf team finish third in the opening tournament of the fall season.
Murphy, a junior from Rogue River, Ore., fired a 3-under 68 at the par-71, 6,868-yard Poppy Hills Golf Course to conclude the tourney in a tie for fourth place with a 1-under 73-71-68--212. It’s the second top-five finish of his career and just a spot back from the tie for third he recorded at the Duck Invitational as a freshman.
