GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The Oregon State women’s rowing team finished seventh at the 2016 Pac-12 Championships regatta on Lake Natoma Sunday.
“As always, the Pac-12 Championships delivered awesome racing,” head coach Emily Ford said. “The 2V (Second Varsity 8) had the race of the day for us, besting USC and finishing closely with UCLA.”
The Beavers’ Second Varsity 8 provided OSU’s best result finishing sixth. The Beavers’ 2V8 crew comprised of Mimi Ballinger, Olivia Ashby, Ellie Lesch, Meagan McKinney, Natalie Sarff, Liz Matzdorf, Lihani du Plessis and Lily Banks and directed by Arcata Leavitt, battled a crew from UCLA throughout the 2,000-meter race, holding a narrow half-second lead at the midway point.
