CORVALLIS, Ore. - The 20-ranked Oregon State (31-13, 7-9 Pac-12) suffered a heart-breaking 6-5 loss to No. 4 UCLA on Friday evening in its Pac-12 series opener at Kelly Field. The Bruins used a five-run inning in the seventh to seal the win and hand the Beavers its fifth straight loss.
Senior struck out nine in her complete game performance, suffering the loss and dropping to 12-6 on the year. Mazon gave up nine hits, with six coming from the final two innings.
Oregon State jumped out to the 2-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth frame.
